XO.FURNITURE / COLLECTION DIRECTION

A place in
your life.
Room for history.

A collaboration direction connecting furniture craft, thoughtful care and the XO world.

Existing XO curved bench concept with cream upholstery and sage cylindrical detailing
Earlier XO seating concept. Physical development remains paused; this page explores a later collaboration, not a production restart.

THE PROPOSITION

Made to have
a next chapter.

A considered piece could arrive with its maker’s account, material references and care guidance. Changes in upholstery, finish or location can become dated chapters. A later keeper can understand what remains original and what has been renewed.

The owner has a useful record for care and repair. A maker or upholstery workshop can document its contribution. XO supplies a recognisable edition story without replacing the product’s own engineering or service documentation.

MAKER AND IMPLEMENTATION ROLES

Choose the right
people for the piece.

A furniture atelier, an upholstery specialist and a materials supplier would be needed. Poltrona Frau is a relevant industry precedent for an NFC-linked product passport, not an XO partner or the manufacturer of this design.

XO will hold the creative direction and experience. We will agree production quality and servicing with the selected maker, and the tag and verification route with a specialist implementation partner.

FIRST TECHNICAL QUESTION

Prove the connection.

Ask whether a companion-kit tag is enough for the first trial and how it is bound to one furniture instance. Test removal, replacement, read position and repair access before embedding anything.

A genuine tag response, the identity of the physical object and a keeper’s authority to change a record are separate checks.

Poltrona Frau describes an NFC tag in its User Kit linked to an individual product, with Temera and Aura. That is a useful reference for discussing possible implementation routes.

FROM CONCEPT TO RELEASE

A clear route before
any collaboration launch.

  1. Agree the maker, design rights, edition, service offer and unit economics.
  2. Build a tagged sample and approve the physical and digital connection together.
  3. Test verification, authorised updates, export and recovery on one complete object journey.
  4. Release a bounded edition only after quality, support and customer information are ready.

These are the release steps. Maker selection, pricing and launch dates follow the first tested samples.
